The word Doula simply means "servant" or "to serve" in Greek.  Women have been commonly known in Birth Doula roles and in many cultures, Death Doula has also been a practice to engage near the end of death.  In Australia and many other Western societies, a Death Doula or End of Life Doula is a fairly new concept.  Let me explain further......
